The Jade Integrated Health Yoga Studio offers a variety of yoga classes to the greater Portland, Maine community. We invite you to escape the crowds and come experience your yoga practice with our experienced yoga teachers in a calm and nurturing studio with class sizes that won’t exceed 12 yogis. 

By practicing yoga regularly you can learn tools to optimize your physical health and well-being. At Jade’s Yoga Studio, you will receive individualized attention in our intimate class setting and get to know your teacher and fellow students. We also have plenty of parking!

"I like that the (drop-in) classes are $15. I like that you have to take your shoes and coats off at the landing before coming up to the actual studio - in a way it helps you check the rest of the world at the door. I like that there's parking. I like that the classes are intentionally small and intimate. As someone who's been practicing for years at home and has been wary of joining a class, I like that I didn't feel like I was being judged, or watched, or felt like I took anyone else's spot (so kudos to the regulars who come here, that's a testament to you). I like that I felt so welcomed. I like that the studio itself is so cozy and warm. And now I'm wondering if I should be telling you all this, because right now Jade feels like a hidden oasis.- Steph

Class Descriptions

All Levels Yoga

Our invigorating all levels yoga class is designed to support and encourage all levels of yoga practitioners. Beginners receive instruction and modifications to begin to form their yoga practice, while experienced students are offered more challenging variations of poses as they continue to grow their yoga practice. Our All Levels Yoga Classes may combine various styles of yoga including Vinyasa Flow, Hatha and Iyengar. Special attention is brought to alignment as we build strength and flexibility while increasing energy and stamina, as well as nurturing the mind-body connection.

Gentle Yoga

Our Gentle Yoga Class is a place for you to arrive on your mat and slow down. We invite you to step away from your busy day and bring the attention inward. You may be led through a gentle-slow flow or find yourself holding gentle poses for a longer duration. Awareness of the mind-body connection as well as attention to your breath work will be emphasized in this class and your instructor will encourage you to listen to your body’s needs and respect its limitations.

Recommended for all levels looking for a soothing, relaxing, and restorative experience, especially those newer to yoga or working with special concerns or injuries.

Gentle Prenatal Yoga

Through a safe, modified practice emphasizing movement and breath, we focus on poses that stretch and open the body yet support ligaments in the pelvis. We cultivate breath techniques and relaxation exercises that help calm the mind.  This gentle class will encourage you to listen to your body, enjoy your baby, explore gentle yoga poses, slow breaths, and relaxation.

Prenatal Yoga Flow

Prenatal Yoga Flow is a class specifically designed for the changing needs of a pregnant body (and company!). The class will flow through postures that are safe during all stages of pregnancy, with modifications as needed, in order to promote the wellbeing of mommy and baby. Yoga flow is focused on decreasing stiffness/soreness, increasing energy, strength and stamina, as well as nurturing the mind-body connection that is so important during labor and delivery. This class is both refreshing and relaxing.

Mommy & Baby Yoga

Our Mommy & Baby Yoga Class is designed for postpartum women who want to attend yoga with their infant. It’s an intimate class for women and their babies, providing individual attention and the opportunity for bonding between mother and baby. This class will help support your efforts to recover from childbirth, rebuild core strength, and teach you how to incorporate exercise, stretching and relaxation into playful time with your baby. Special attention is placed on developing core strength and stability, involving a particular emphasis on strengthening the back, abdomen, and pelvic floor, as well as relieving tension in areas such as the neck, shoulders and back. The babies benefit from the bonding time with mom, baby massages and the stimulating environment with new baby friends! Please contact us with questions.

Mommy & Baby Fitness

Ready to get a workout WITH your baby? Mom and baby fitness class is designed for Mom’s to come to class with their baby and get both cardiovascular and core strength exercise. Exercise classes can include exercises using yoga mats, Physioballs, free weights and Thera Band. The goal is to get moving, build strength and build flexibility with other postpartum women. The class can accommodate all levels of fitness, any exercise can be tailored to where you are!

Yoga for the 50+ Crowd

This is a gentle vinyasa flow for experienced as well as new yoga practitioners who are aged 50 and over.  You will stretch, strengthen, tone and find balance as we move through different postures each week, rejuvenating the mind, body and spirit. Poses are sequenced to build and maintain the strength, flexibility and balance necessary for graceful aging.

Winter to Spring Workshop

Explore a deeper connection with yourself, your fellow beings, and the earth this winter as you
mindfully transition from winter to spring. We are offering three different workshops providing a
whole body experience that unites our body with the seasons. This 2 hour experience will be led by
Joy, a DPT/Yoga Instructor and Carole, a Licensed Acupuncturist, and will consist of a guided
yoga class to prepare the body for an extended savasana with an acupuncture treatment.

January 18th: Restore, Embrace the Yin in Winter

Nourish your body, mind, and soul with poses and points that celebrate the regenerative nature of winter. Practice restorative and yin yoga poses ending with an extended savasana with acupuncture.

February 22nd, 2017: Awaken, Balance Yin and Yang

Balance the yin & yang energies for a midwinter awakening. Yoga postures will have both restorative and active components while acupuncture will awaken the body’s energy. Celebrate the spring equinox and enter into a season of increased yang.

March 22nd, 2017: Energize, Increase Yang in Spring

Transition smoothly into spring through sun and moon salutes followed by complementary
energizing acupuncture treatment.

Students must pre-register for this workshop. 10 spaces available. Mats and props are included.
