Kate Barton, L.Ac.

Kate is a licensed acupuncturist and Chinese herbal medicine practitioner from Belgrade, Maine. Kate is a board certified Diplomate of Oriental Medicine through the NCCAOM. She received her BS in Animal and Veterinary Sciences from the University of Vermont and her Master of Science from the Finger Lakes School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at the New York Chiropractic College (Northeast College of Health Sciences) where she graduated as a member of the Phi Chi Omega Honor Society. While in graduate school, Kate was fortunate to have the opportunity to study abroad at the Zhejiang Provincial Hospital of TCM in Hangshou, PRC, where she received over 100 clinical hours of training, learning from the doctors and patients in an integrative setting. Kate’s passions in acupuncture revolve around mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, PTSD,  and insomnia. Kate is also passionate about women’s health and is known as the “low back whisperer”. She adores working with teenagers and the veteran population. 

Outside of the office, Kate is known as a walking encyclopedia about the state of Maine and is most likely to be found doing some sort of outdoor activity with her dog, Willa. Kate also has a passion for food and wine, making Portland the perfect city to call home!
