Energizing Yoga Sequence

The mornings are bright and you feel a new revitalizing energy pumping through you. Ah yes, spring is finally showing us her warmth!

Even with the warmer weather we still can experience those low energy points in our day (mid-afternoon anyone?). Don't worry, we have your back.

Here are 5 Yoga Poses to lift you up and get you through those 3 p.m. dips. No coffee needed here! (Ok...maybe one cup of tea.)

1. Crescent Lunge

Benefits Include: Increases Energy. Strengthens legs and arms.

Hold for 5 breaths per side. For tighter shoulders take opposite elbows behind back.

2. Chair Pose (Utkatasana)

Benefits Include: Increases energy and power.

Hold for 5-10 breaths. Bring weight towards heels. For tighter shoulder take hands shoulder width a part. 


3. Warrior II (Virabhadrasana II)

Benefits Include: Builds strength, increases stamina.

Hold for 5-10 breaths.

4. Camel Pose (Ustrasana)

Benefits Include: Reduces stress and increases energy.

Hold for 5 breaths *Keep your hands (fingers pointing down) on low back for beginners or if you have a sensitive back.

5. Hero's Pose (Vajrasana)

Benefits Include: Improves circulation and relieves tired legs. Increases confidence.

Extend hands towards knees keeping elbows straight. Lift through chest and lengthen through the spine. Modification - seated on a block. 

Hold for 5-10 breaths. Close eyes and bring attention to the sensation of your breath.
